Frederick M. Vollono has 25 years of jury trial and appellate court experience. From 1992 to 2003, he was Managing Attorney and Senior Trial Counsel for Prudential Insurance Company. After Liberty Mutual Insurance Company purchased Prudential, Mr. Vollono became Senior Trial Counsel and Litigation Supervisor for Liberty Mutual in 2003. He joined Kenny, Brimmer, and Mahoney LLC in 2008, and focuses his practice on the following areas: wrongful death, construction litigation, uninsured and underinsured motorist and high exposure personal injury cases. In addition to serving as counsel to insurance claim departments, he has also written coverage opinions on a wide array of insurance coverage issues.
Mr. Vollono's appellate court experience includes many significant areas of Connecticut law. Some of the cases he has worked on include the following: Middlesex Insurance Company v. Quinn, 225 Conn. 257 (1993); Middlesex Insurance Company v. Rady, 34 Conn. App. 679, (1994) cert. denied, 231 Conn. 908 (1994); Middlesex Insurance Company v. Castellano, 225 Conn. 339 (1993); Savoie v. Prudential Insurance Company, 271 Conn. App. 932 (2004).
In 1999, the judges of the Connecticut Superior Court appointed him an Attorney Trial Referee. Additionally, plaintiff and defense attorneys have often selected him to serve as an arbitrator or mediator, and he is a member of two alternative dispute resolution services.
Mr. Vollono continues to be active in municipal and community activities. Prior to attending law school, he was a trooper with the Connecticut State Police working in patrol, investigative, and public information areas. He also has a special interest in Civil War history, and frequently presents programs to historical and school groups, focusing on the common soldier of the Civil War.
